The Nanotech Cleaning – How Does It Work?

The windows and mirrors, that do not fog. The water taps, the scale does not adhere to, and the floor, you can just wipe with water gently and the dirt is gone. You can have all these things with the help of the nanotechnology.

The nanotech is not associated with cleaning yet, but it has so many advantages that it should be from now on.

With the help of the nanotechnology products, the surfaces are coated with an ultrathin layer of silicon dioxide that is a microscopic layer of glass in the form of tiny nanoparticles. The surface treated with it can easily be washed only with water, it has a self-cleaning effect, it is protected against the subsequent contamination and it is hygienically clean.

“Its effects protect the treated surface from water, scale, misting, dirt and contamination, and thanks to its hydrophobic and antistatic effect makes further cleaning without the use of hazardous chemicals much easier. These products have a high cleaning power, high concentration and they dilute easily,” an expert says.

The nanoproducts are suitable for the treatment of flooring, such as tiles, stone, wood, vinyl, linoleum and laminate flooring, as well as for the glass surfaces of mirrors and windows, for the furniture, lacquered wood, imitations of leather and all kinds of plastics. These products can remove rust, scale and more. They create a surface, which repels the dirt and protect the materials from fungi and bacteria.

How Does The Nanotech Work?

You may have already heard the term “the lotus effect”. If you watch a lotus in the nature, you will find that it is clean all the time, the water does not adhere to it, it runs down and rinses any possible dirt. And that is exactly how the surfaces of materials treated with nanotech products work.

The surface is vapour-permeable even after the application of the layer because the nano layer does not adhere using a binder, but only the chemical bonds and the magnetic forces. This makes the resulting protection surface resistant against the influence of frost and moisture, neither it is influenced by frequent changes of temperature or by the impact of chemicals.

The protective film ceases only by mechanical wear off or by gradual weathering, so the layer needs to be recovered after some time. Even the nanotechnology cannot guarantee the surfaces to be completely resistant to the contamination however it certainly prolongs considerably the time interval between the necessary maintenance, which is quicker and easier then. Moreover, it is also cheaper, because you need just water to remove any impurities.

How Do You Use Them?

Perhaps you are slightly sceptical now and ask yourself, whether these products require any special treatment. But as we could test ourselves, you cannot see any difference. Pour the detergent into a bucket and then mop the floor as usually. You should only be careful about the recommended dosage, as these are mostly strong concentrates. You will see that the floor resists getting dirty and creating streaks considerably longer, it is shiny and it requires just sweeping.

An Effective Combat With Viruses

The nanotech cleaning products often contain the nanosilver. It is a natural and effective antibiotic that has a future use in medicine, too. It can eliminate 650 species of pathogenic bacteria, viruses, fungi and moulds. The viruses and bacteria are becoming more and more resistant to antibiotics, but they are helpless against the bactericidal effect of silver nanoparticles, “a scientist says.
